Git- Game Changer

I recently took a class, well a few classes about git and using GitHub. Wow what an amazing thing. I realize most of you have used or know about this for years. I have even used I two store a few projects but have only used it as a way to transfer projects between computers.

I have been thinking what a life saver this would have been when I first started coding. I have pretty much worked on all my projects alone, from end, back end etc. I have hired designers to make me PSD layouts and I take it from there. My first and last in house programming job we had 2 developers. My boss the IT Manager and wow did he enjoy that title. We used dreamweaver to do our html / css / javascript and php editing with. It was nice to use the upload feature. We had many times where we over wrote each others changes. At the time we was working on the “New PHP Template” system as the current sites were all done as single HTML pages. Yeah… that long ago. So spending a few days making changes to the website header and then uploading, only to have your boss come screaming at you a few mins later because you over wrote all his footer changes!

I am looking forward to using git more often.
